Michael J. Kaempf, MD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been recognized as one of the "Top Docs" in urology several times in the last few years by local and national organizations. He is also a member of the medical honorary Alpha Omega Alpha. He views urology as a field that provides the opportunity to practice surgery and medicine while treating a wide variety of diseases for a wide variety of patients.

"Urology is unique in combining both surgical and non-surgical treatment of varied diseases involving male and female patients of all ages, crossing multiple medical disciplines," he explains.

Dr. Kaempf received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in 1968 and earned his medical degree at the University of Oregon Medical School in 1972. He completed his internship and urology residency in 1977 at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Medical Center.

Dr. Kaempf has a special interest in treating cancers, infertility and impotence. He is a specialist in treating urologic cancers and diseases with robotic and laparoscopic surgery.

"At The Urology Clinic, we can provide full-service urology for people throughout the region," Dr. Kaempf says. "We treat patients at all the major Portland-area hospitals."

Dr. Kaempf believes strongly in The Urology Clinic's people-oriented approach to practicing medicine and aims to be attentive to all of his patients' needs.

"I want to listen carefully and be part of the process of taking care of the whole person," he says.

In his free time, Dr. Kaempf enjoys sports, skiing, running and his new grandchild.
