Kevin M. McEvoy, MD

Specialty: General Urology, Transplant Surgery

Kevin M. McEvoy, MD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. In addition to being a Urologist at The Urology Clinic, he is a Transplant Surgeon with Legacy Good Samaritan Transplant Services. He was drawn to urology by the opportunity to help people of all ages.

"I was attracted to Urology as a surgical specialty because of the opportunity to help people overcome or manage a broad set of acute and chronic medical problems," he says. "In general, Urologists, have a great deal to offer patients to improve the quality and function of their lives. It is an ancient and gratifying profession, made more so by the fact that so few people in or out of medicine have much knowledge of it."

Dr. McEvoy received his undergraduate degree at University of California at Berkeley in 1981 and received his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1985. He completed his urology internship and residency at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, in 1991. He went on to serve in the US Air Force and in 1996 completed a Kidney Transplant Fellowship at USC, St. Vincent Medical Center.

Dr. McEvoy is most interested in urologic diseases and processes that affect kidney function and what urologists and patients can do together to prevent and treat kidney failure.

"Ultimately the solution may involve a kidney transplant," he explains, "But careful management of stones, prostatism, infections and urologic cancers of many kinds can often lessen the need for transplant."

Dr. McEvoy vows to always do his best to help patients and says The Urology Clinic is uniquely qualified to work with patients to solve their urologic problems.

"We are a team of specially trained urologic surgeons with broad expertise in virtually all areas of urologic disease," he says. "The Urology Clinic can help."

In his free time, Dr. McEvoy enjoys walking his 110-pound yellow lab, gardening, vacationing with his wife and children and spending time in the mountains.
