Roger D. Rosenquist, MD

Specialty: General Urology, Prostate Related Surgery

Roger Rosenquist, MD, is a member of the American Medical Association, the Oregon Medical Association, the Northwest Urological Society and the American Association of Clinical Urologists. Dr. Rosenquist says that he knew he wanted to be a surgeon early on in life. He was drawn to urology because of the inherent variety of the field.

"I discovered that urology offered a good variety of surgeries - from endoscopy to open procedures," he says. "It had a good balance between surgery and robust office practice where I enjoy the interaction with patients."

Dr. Rosenquist earned his undergraduate degree from La Sierra University in Riverside, California, in 1968 and his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, in 1972. Following internship, he completed his residency in general surgery in 1974 and his residency in urology in 1977 at Loma Linda University. He has practiced in Portland since 1980.

Dr. Rosenquist has served as a clinical instructor in urology at Oregon Health & Science University and as chair of the department of surgery at Portland's Adventist Medical Center. He enjoys all aspects of urology and says The Urology Clinic is uniquely qualified to treat patients of all kinds.

"From the simplest vasectomy to renal transplantation, we treat all aspects of adult urology," he says. "And we are conveniently located at offices all over the metropolitan area."

Dr. Rosenquist's passion for helping to improve the lives of others led him to once serve a mission hospital in Puerto Rico for three years. He believes in treating the people he cares for as family.

"I not only care for my patients, I care about them," he says. "I try to treat them as I would like to be treated, with integrity and respect."

Outside of the office, Dr. Rosenquist enjoys photography, travel, boating and music. He spends most of his time with his wife, two sons and grandchildren.
